Parking Lot Safety

Dear Parents,
 

Please take a few minutes to review the school rules for dropping off and picking up students at school.  We have noticed an increase of unsafe practices and need to correct them so that our students can arrive safely and on time.  We need your continued help and cooperation.  Please follow these rules to ensure that you can get in and out of the parking lot quickly.

  1. THERE IS NO PARKING IN THE DROP-OFF LANE!  This is a drop-off or pick up lane only.  If you need to exit your vehicle, please park in the parking lot.  Not only does parking in the drop-off lane make it hard for our other parents to get into the lane, but also it is against the law and you could get ticketed.  
  2. Please have your child ready to exit the vehicle when you arrive at the school.  It is hard to keep the flow of traffic running smoothly when we have parents signing forms, checking homework and children eating their breakfast in the drop-off lane.  We do understand that there are days when you are running behind but if you need a few extra minutes with your child please park in a parking space and have them use the crosswalk.
  3. Do not encourage, ask, or demand that your children run across traffic to get to your parked car.  Always use crosswalks.
  4. Please pull all the way forward when you drop your child off.  We have a large number of students in our school and we need to accommodate everyone.  If everyone pulls all the way forward, we can get more cars into the drop-off lane.
  5. Please have your child exit out the right side of the vehicle.  It is not safe for them to exit on the left into the thru lane.  Please never stop in the thru lane, especially to drop off or pick up children.  This not only impedes the traffic but is very dangerous for your child.
  6. If there are cars passing you in the thru lane please let them by before you pull into that lane to exit the parking lot.  They have the right of way.
  1. Please do not allow your child to exit your vehicle on Winton Avenue, not only is it an unsafe practice it is in violation of road safety laws.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.  We are always looking for additional volunteers to help in the parking lot.  If you are interested in helping please let us know.

Estimados Padres,

Por favor tomen algunos minutos para revisar las reglas al dejar y recoger a sus hijos de la escuela. Hemos notado prácticas inseguras y hay la necesidad de corregirlas para asegurar que nuestros alumnos lleguen a tiempo y con seguridad a la escuela. Les pedimos su apoyo y  cooperación.  Favor de seguir estas reglas para que puedan entrar y salir de estacionamiento con rapidez y seguridad.  

  1. NO SE PERMITE  ESTACIONARSE EN EL CARRIL DONDE  DEJA Y RECOGE  A SUS HIJOS! Este carril es solamente para dejar y recoger  a sus hijos. Si necesita salir de su vehículo favor de estacionarse en el estacionamiento. Al parar en este carril causa dificultad a los otros padres para entrar al carril, esto es contra la ley y podría recibir una multa.     
  2. Por favor asegúrense que sus hijos estén listos para salir de su vehículo cuando lleguen a la escuela. Es difícil mantener el tráfico fluyendo cuando tenemos a padres firmando hojas, revisando tareas, o alumnos terminando su desayuno mientras el tráfico se sigue moviendo. Entendemos que hay días en que estamos apresurados,  por favor  estacione su auto y diga a su hijo/a que use el cruce peatonal.   
  3. No anime, pida, o exija a sus hijos que corran a través del tráfico para que se suban a su coche. Siempre use los pasos de peatones.
  4. Por favor,maneje hasta el frente . Tenemos un gran número de alumnos en nuestra escuela y queremos ayudarlos. Si todos manejan hasta el frente podemos acomodar a más carros.
  5. Favor de asegurarse que sus hijos salgan del carro del lado derecho. No es seguro que se salgan del lado izquierdo donde pasan los autos. Favor de nunca pararse en el carril donde los carros se están moviendo. Esto solo impide el movimiento del tráfico y es peligroso para sus hijos    
  6. Si hay carros en movimiento en el carril de salida favor de dejarlos pasar antes de entrar al carril y al salir del estacionamiento. 
  7. Por favor no permita que su hijo/a se baje del auto en la Ave. Winton, no es solo una práctica insegura también es una violación a las leyes de vialidad.

Le agradecemos su cooperación. Siempre estamos buscando voluntarios extras para ayudarnos con el estacionamiento.  Si están interesados favor de informar en la oficina.
